Approach
As a Marital and family therapist, Natalie is specifically trained to work with SYSTEMS (more than 1 person) - viewing the problem from multiple angles and perspectives provides a clear image with more accurate results.
Think about a puzzle. One piece only shows so much of the whole picture. Though this piece is absolutely vital, it cannot stand alone in a dysfunctional system and complete the image. If the system is able to provide support to the individual, therapy is EXPONENTIONALLY more successful. Likewise, if partners are both attentive and open in session, their dynamics outside of the therapy room will be greatly improved simply because they have finally "gotten on the same page."
Natalie loves working with Individuals, but often may inquire about a family/couple session as a possibility or may ask extensive questions regarding daily relationships/support systems to better understand the world you must function within.
Natalie utilizes evidence-based techniques and therapies to help clients and their family systems function with ease.
- EMDR - Trauma informed therapist (since 2014) utilizing EMDR therapy to help those who suffer from the lasting effects of trauma finally be able to function without the torment.
- Gottman Couples therapy Institute- Natalie has completed level 2 for couples therapy training as well as every training Gottman clinic has had to offer since 2014 .
- Prepare/Enrich couples therapy facilitator - wonderful premarital program aimed at strengthening connections between partners before they say "I DO."
- ACT therapy - over arching therapeutic modality Natalie uses in every session regardless the subject matter. Act therapy helps individuals understand the underlying values that determine their behavior while also teaching skills to stay focused on the current moment without judgement.
- Enneagram informed therapist - utilizing this popular personality theory to help individuals and couples better understand one another.
- Artistic and Somatic therapeutic modalities - Sometimes words are not available for things that are INDESCRIBABLE. Natalie has multiple therapeutic techniques to help meet you where you are at without having to just sit still and talk.
